What Is an Integration Centre?

An integration centre is where rollout certainty gets manufactured. It's a secure facility that receives your technology hardware in bulk, turns it into site-ready kits, and dispatches each kit to arrive exactly when its installation crew does. Every predictable deployment you've ever admired had one behind it.

What happens inside

Receipt and registration. Pallets arrive from your vendors. Every device is unboxed, inspected and logged serial-by-serial into an inventory platform (ours is IMX), which becomes the single source of truth from this moment to installation.

DOA screening. Dead-on-arrival units get caught at the bench, not at a store 700 km away. The difference is a warranty swap this week versus a failed site visit and a rescheduled crew.

Imaging and configuration. Devices are built to your standard in segregated environments: operating system image, applications, settings, security baseline. POS terminals get their production build; network gear gets its per-site config loaded and labelled.

Asset tagging. Your tags, applied consistently, recorded against serials. The asset register your auditors dream about starts here.

Kitting. Each site's complete kit comes together: devices, peripherals, cables, mounts, consumables, printed work pack. Packed, labelled with the site name, and staged for its wave.

Dispatch and tracking. Kits ship against the wave schedule so freight and crew converge. Live dashboards show what's in stock, allocated, in transit and installed.

Why this beats drop-shipping

The alternative, vendors shipping direct to sites, is cheaper on paper and expensive everywhere else. Boxes arrive unconfigured, unverified and sometimes broken; site crews turn stockrooms into workshops; every install becomes a bespoke event; and nobody can say where any serial actually is. The integration centre exists to delete that entire category of failure.

The ongoing role

Between rollouts, the centre works as your fleet's depot: spares storage with visibility, warranty and DOA management with OEMs, stocktakes, refurbishment, and staging for IMAC work and store openings. Retired assets flow back through the same dock for wiping, remarketing or recycling.

What to ask a provider

Whose facility is it, theirs or a subcontractor's? Can you query a serial's location live? Are build environments segregated by client? Is the facility insured for your stock's value?
